I have tattooed professionally in Helsinki since 2015.
I started my career when I was 19 years old by moving from Oulu to Southern Finland, and beginning my tattoo apprenticeship in a studio at Helsinki.
I think that every tattoo is an equal act of trust and deserves to be appreciated as so. I think tattooer's role is to guide client through the tattooing process so that control remains with client, and consent is taken into account throughout the process. The most rewarding parts for me are long client relationships and doing what I love for a living. Especially tattoos that have some kind of a positive impact on their carriers life, feel very special to me.
Around the time when I was starting to learn tattooing, it was more common that tattooers did multiple styles or techniques, and I think it still affects my work today.
Therefore I do different types of tattoos. I also direct clients to contact other tattooers, if I ever feel that my style is not suitable for the work requested.
Tattoo styles I have most experience with:
I draw all the tattoo designs by hand. Sometimes I draw on paper, sometimes with iPad. I don't use Artificial Intelligence (AI) in any part of my tattooing process.
Drawing and painting are important to me also outside of work, so I do both just for my own pleasure aswell.I often find inspiration from nature, symbolism, mythology and folk art. In addition to tattooing and drawing I enjoy reading, nature trips, and cooking. I donˋt have pets at the moment but I highly appreciate the occassional company of other species.
